ANGELA LYN hunt of the day 2025 bronze, wood, iron, textile, glass 154 H x 30 W x 220 cm L
Angela Lyn's work invites reflection. Following her expansive project On the Edge of Time, held in 2022 at Villa Arconati FAR, aligning the artist's reflections on the past, present and future in site-specific dialogues throughout 25 rooms of the centuries-old villa, Lyn joins Arco Art & Nature with a new work for the hunting room. Amidst the paintings of the once-upon-a-time hunting scenes of dogs set upon their prey, Lyn brings the image of a newborn child in a powerful juxtaposition with what it means to hunt today. The trophy of the young hunter is not meat but water. Lyn's bronze baby marks the need for resilience in a world without self-evident resources. The soft hand-sewn textile arrowhead made from the artist's painting rags marks an ambiguity central to Lyn's work. Her arrowhead indicates brute force will not feed the young hunter - instead, insightful and attentive care. Alongside her lifelong practice as an artist, Lyn is the mother of three children. Her art connects to life. The carefully chosen materials that the artist integrates in this work reveal a poetry that is both nurturing and powerful at once.
